WHAT A FASHION NERD’S AMY ROILAND HAS BEEN UP TO
Hey there all you gorgeous, fashion loving people out there! Tell me, have you got the FashionTap App? I’m hoping you know it, have it, own it, love it.
But if you don’t, here’s the lowdown.
Amy Roiland – she’s an ideas gal!
FashionTap is headed up by Amy Roiland, whom some of you may know as @afashionnerd (or follow her blog: afashionnerd.com). Amy is one of those gals, you know… Just so darn inspiring and captivating. She’s a model, designer, photographer, blogger, actress, and the list goes on. She has worked for some amazing companies. But now Amy is all about FashionTap. And here is why.
Amy knows things. Amy knows that there is a hazy void between the fashion industry and technology. So Amy fist punched the air and yelled out “FASHIONTAP!!!!”. And then she went out and created this app.
The FashionTap App
This App is AH-MAZ-ING. You can search clothing items, shoes, brands, accessories, hairstylists, make-up artists, fashion styles and so on. Plus you can search by location which is so handy if you’re travelling or just want to find some new local clothing stores. It uses hashtags, just like Instagram (in fact you can link it to Instagram, Twitter & Facebook) so it’s simple to use. But the fun doesn’t stop there.
You see a photo of someone wearing this awesome lipstick, the perfect colour you’ve been looking for. Well guess what? It’s tagged with the brand, item and colour name. Want more? Yeah, well you click on the tag link and the internet highway takes you on a short journey to an online shop where you can purchase it then and there! Wham Bam Thank-You Maam!
You can upload photo’s of yourself in your favourite Sunday dress. Tag where you bought it from. Add the online shop link and guess what? If someone clicks on that link and purchases that dress, YOU get a COMMISSION! And why shouldn’t you, you are spending your time freely advertising where your hard-earned cashola has gone.
You can upload photo’s from online stores, tag them with the link of their online store and help promote your favourite labels. This is what I do. I am no good at selfies. I’m too selfie-conscious. I try search for smaller designers, the ones on Etsy or labels that are starting up, doing the market run. There are so many talented people out there and although I’m not against buying from big name brands, I do like to support and promote the little people. I like the little people. I am the little people.
