Day 26 – Diletta Pacifici of Ladile Art
Diletta Pacifici of Ladile Art is a minimalist photographer and jewellery maker from Italy. Diletta has the amazing ability to edit her photographs in Photoshop to make them look like amazing pieces of art. I urge all you readers to have a look at her Instagram!
Are you a self-taught artist, or what studies did you do to get where you are today?
I am a self-taught artist; I have never studied photography or photo editing. For now, I do this as a creative hobby, not as a job.
What tools, programs and apps do you love or cannot live without?
I would say my Nikon Camera and Photoshop, that is the only program I use to edit the photos and create my artworks.
Your art provides inspirations to so many others. What or who inspires you?
Actually everything does. Like watching the clouds moving in the sky, a flying plane, night dreams, thinking about the nonsense of our lives, looking at the creative works of other artists.
Can you describe your process including how long a piece of art or photography takes you from concept to complete?
Sometimes I start from what I photographed and I just make it more interesting and meaningful, changing colours, arranging the elements geometrically and inserting a human presence. Other times I create the image from nothing, mixing up more than one photo, taken from internet also. It is always like a game of imagination, that can be quick or more long and complicated. (There are some pictures that require some working days)
What part of your process do you love the most?
Definitely the editing process.
If you weren’t an artist, what do you think you would be doing for work?
What I do in my life, I ‘m a jewellery designer. When I was a child I wanted to be a writer. I love creativity in all its forms…
Who is the most fascinating or inspiring person you have met or worked with?
I like many artists and persons I met on Instagram but I I didn’t cooperate with any of them. At this moment my favourite artist is Daniel Rueda aka @drcuerda. He is simply brilliant and amazing.
What artwork of yours are you most proud of?
My artwork I like more is “Dilemma”, because I am exactly that way. I feel an inner conflict between what I am and what I would like to be, between my everyday life and another life I dream, between my oddities and what others consider to be “normal”. I think that image describes the fear of change some way.
What’s next in the professional pipe works for you?
I don’t know what the future will bring to me, I’m not good at making projects.
Bonus fun question
What is your pet peeve?
I hate mess … chaotic places, messy rooms or too many things in tight spaces make me so anxious! This is the reason why I chose minimalism as my visual style, it has a calming power, is relaxing.
